Super Sassy.

iPhone-Subway-Picture-Dump. A Skunk and a Chicken making some sweet, sweet music together.

Something must be on the wind; I've been rather sassy this week.

My Meisner class is teaching me something invaluable: how to have a good bullshit detector.

You can look someone right in the eye, and without listening too hard to what they are saying, get a vibe from them. Do you like them? Are their eyes consistent with what is coming out of their mouth? Do you believe that they are telling the truth?

No?

Its bullshit!

So many people bullshit all day long. Bullshit each other, bullshit their loved ones, bullshit themselves. I think we just don't listen to the people we are talking to. You engage in conversation with someone, but because you want something. When was the last time you really listened, for the sake of listening?

Today I was working in "Mobile Sampling," aka, fancy-pants name for handing out free snacks to people on the street as part of a promotion. The people watching was priceless.

Some people look you in the eye for just a second, and look away. You can tell they want the snack, but are afraid to ask. You offer it to them and assure them it is free, and once they are convinced it's not a gimmick, they let down their bullshit street guard.

Today we offered a snack to a very nice lady cop, and she started telling us about her life; where she's from, about her son, how her Mom is in the hospital and she is the only one taking care of her. She let down her guard and it was so beautiful. After our five minute conversation she was gone, I'll never see her again.

But there was no bullshit between us. It was a real conversation between real people.
