Monday, Monday.

Getting away for just one day can do a world of good! My brother and I loaded up the car and headed to Dewey, DE for a lazy few hours of sunshine. Even the drive east through the small towns and with the windows down felt relaxing. I think I needed to get away and clear my mind. I feel so much more energized (and irregularly sunburnt - dang spray on sunscreen) and that I no longer need to compulsively buy another pair of shoes on DSW.com to satisfy some inner anxiety. Totally forgot to snap a few pictures, but sometimes getting caught up in documenting memories gets in the way of enjoying the moment at hand. :)

In other news I am a finalist of "Signature Idol" to be held this Saturday at 3:45pm. 10 Musical Theater singers compete for the title of first ever "Signature Idol" and a spot in a final "Broadway on the Plaza" concert with a whole bunch of people who are really, really good at singing. The idea is similar to "American Idol" but for musical theater kiddies like myself.

Onto my second week of Shakespeare class tonight. I'm finding myself loving Shakespeare more and more. Tonight I took the metro instead of driving, and it saved me so much stress. I am finding ways to enjoy the metro, such as visibly jamming out to my ipod and trying to make eye contact with passengers across cars. So many people are listening to headphones, but none of them appear to be actively listening to music. What are you hearing? The dictionary being read? Crack a smile, tap a foot, anything.
