Ben Sollee in Brooklyn
Ben Sollee in concert was one of the most exciting musical experiences I've had in a long time.
He plays the cello like a ukulele, like a guitar, and also, well like a classical cello. His songs have the nostalgia of Nick Drake and the lyrical poetry of Joni Mitchell, but with a burst of youthful energy and rhythmic ingenuity. By the end of his set, his bow was missing a few hairs, but the crowd was still screaming for more.
He comes back to NYC in May. Gotta see this again!
