Hidden Neighborhood Treasure

Astoria Park
Although I've had rehearsals in Maryland for most of the week, I didn't want to miss my weekly Meisner class. I took a quick 24 hour trip back to Astoria, and was greeted by the most glorious weather.

Since the entire earth has blossomed over the last three weeks, I've been meaning to explore lovely Astoria park, which is a short 5 blocks from my apartment.

I grabbed my music score and found a shady spot with some fluffy grass. I parked myself with a lovely view of the Manhattan skyline and the RFK Bridge. Although it is just the East River, the salty smell of water reminded me of the beach. Far from it; but I'll take it. I can foresee more sunny afternoons spent in this gem of a park!
