Rainbow over the Potomac River

One of the benefits to traveling is that you are in situations to see the unusual. Right before we pulled out of the KC for our first driving day, we saw a glorious rainbow stretching over the Potomac River.

We made a pitstop to my favorite tourist trap, South of the Border. Seriously, how many sombreros can you cram into this place?

South of the Border is a desolate place. I imagine that once it had been a thriving tourist destination, with a restaurant, a car wash, and a garden for children to play in. Now it is empty and barren, with shops rarely open.

Tonight in Florida I saw another rainbow! This is the second one within one week.
