Sitzprobe...Is a Great Word

Summer Camp Tahiti continues this week. It feels like a summer program or intensive in the way that I've traveled home from New York, and have had rehearsals for several hours every single day. We are putting this piece together are lightening-warp speed. Coachings in the afternoon, staging rehearsals at evening.

In just three days we've already had our sitzprobe; which is a fantastically fancy word for putting the voices together with the orchestra. It has been years since I've had the luxury of singing with live musicians, and not just a click track. Singing with live orchestra is like taking the first bite of the most delicious chocolate cake.

This entire process will take ten days from first rehearsal to performance. Talk about a whirlwind.
