Theater Roundup

Skirball Center, NYU
Coming into our last three weeks of tour, we've been picking up venues at a nice pace. Our stint six-show stint at the Skirball Center in SoHo was a lot of fun. I like to think of it as my New York city debut :) After all, it was an off-Broadway house! After each show we had a brief Q&A with the audience.

Favorite moments:

"How do you become a Mommy?"

"How did you make Star Wars?"

and

"What do you think the moral of the story is?"
"Let me turn that one back to you, what do you think the moral of the story is?"
"To neither underestimate or overestimate yourself and others."

Smart kid.

Colonial Theater, Keene, NH
A brief stop in the charming resort city of Keene, NH. A small, but charming downtown, and the locals were incredibly nice.

I wish this picture had come out a little clearer, the molding was very ornate and painted gold and turquoise.

The Colonial Theater, Pittsfield, MA
The Colonial Theater is stunning, made in the Orpheum style much like theater I've seen in Memphis and Wilmington, DE. Beautiful, intricate gold working on the walls, with a beautifully painted mural on the ceiling. This place reeks of regality.

The author of the popular Knuffle Bunny book series, Mo Willems, brought his family to see our show. We had the pleasure of meeting the "real Trixie" who in the books is 16 months, but in real life is a very precocious 10 year old. He lead a side-splitting Q&A with us after the show, best answers were...

"Do you ever use live musicians?"
"Well, we certainly don't use dead musicians."

"How did you make the big shirt monster?"
"First, we had to find a really, really big guy and ask if we could borrow his shirt."

PS: Just 10 days left on the road! Eek!
